We have an outdoor area in which to hold your wedding ceremony. Nestled in the old rockery at the bottom of an infinity lawn, overlooking the Clwydian Range is a beautiful pagoda surrounded by flowers and trees. Perfect for Spring and Summer weddings.

There are so many beautiful venues out there in amazing settings with beautiful views. But it’s getting harder to find some place where you can truly make your wedding unique. Here at Pentre Mawr the sky’s the limit. It certainly felt like that when we took a spin on the Ferris wheel which one of our brides brought in last year. When she asked us if she could have a fairground, we just thought why not!! So, if you think we’re a little mad well, you just might be right.

We love to say yes to our couples no matter how daft the idea. there’s no limit to what you can do here. Well almost no limit, it must legal and we must be physically able to do it!!!

Whatever you do in this world there always seems to be a list of don’ts so we’re breaking all the rules! If it’s your dream to get married in a beautiful walled garden, you can. If a rustic barn is your thing, no problem. Go completely bonkers, how about a genuine African Safari Lodge? If vintage is more you, the elegant manor house provides the perfect setting for an intimate wedding. Want to have a completely outdoor wedding in the beautiful Welsh sunshine (of course we get lovely sunny days here and sometimes a little soft Welsh rain) our new wedding pagoda is just thing.

We sit in 6 acres of gardens; our stable yard has a fire pit for the evenings and our Secret Walled Garden is ideal for your wedding ceremony. We have two marquees and two super barns to make sure that you have cover on the occasional days it rains in Wales!

We’re really aware that the cost of your big day can get out of control with all the usual add-ons. So we charge one fee and give you total freedom. You can bring your own caterer and your own wine with no corkage. We’ve got a fantastic Pinterest room with loads of lovely goodies you can use to decorate your marquee. From buntings to bird cages, candelabras to huge martini glasses, lanterns and anything else you can imagine.

We’ve got photo wall, so there’s no need to book a photo booth and a lovely candy cart that you can fill with your favourite sweeties. And the daftest thing of all... a doughnut wall! Our latest purchases are huge LOVE letters and a 5 foot heart so there’s no need to order any of the extras as these are all here for you to use.

A rare mixture of the traditional and modern, there's a style for everyone at Pentre Mawr.
We have twelve guest suites in total. Three superior rooms in the house, all including large jacuzzi baths and ornate decor. Three cottage suites with private hot tubs and self catering facilities. And for the more adventurous among us, we have six safari lodges with private hot tubs. All rooms are ensuite and include tea and coffee making facilities.

“So... My new hubby & I got married at this stunning place yesterday. I can honestly say what an absolutely amazing, beautiful & friendly home & venue this is. Bre, Graham, Lorna & the team are wonderful people, so friendly & supportive. Nothing is too much trouble, they go out of their way to make everything so special. Not only did we get to enjoy the beautiful setting & have free reign to make it our own on the day, we had a fantastic brunch the next morning with our family. Delicious food, great homely service in a relaxed setting after a fab night of partying. Our guests keep complimenting us on choosing such a fabulous place to spend our special day. We're looking forward to a mini break there in the summer.

“We celebrated our wedding here on the 8th December, we had the most amazing day and evening, we cannot thank you enough Bre, Graham, Lorna and the gang for everything that you did leading up to and during our special day!
We fell in love with the venue and owners as soon as we viewed it, from the safari tents and hot tubs, to the warm welcoming country house, the place is so unique and you can pretty much do what you want as long as it's legal!
The food and drink was delicious all weekend, I can't thank Bre enough for feeding me up with a few breakfasts!! Nothing was too much trouble and everything was always calm, even with the bridesmaid falling over in the mud, as much as we can't stop laughing about it, we need to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU TO BRE for managing to have the dress cleaned and back on the bridesmaid before the wedding breakfast!!

The atmosphere in the barn with sound system and live music really got our guests dancing, we had a wedding bake off where by our guests made desserts which meant we have never eaten so much cake! There are so many little touches and surprises a long the way which make this place very unique and special.

We cannot wait to visit again soon and we are hoping to stay later this year.

Pentre Mawr is a truly amazing venue and will hold a special place in our hearts forever!! We wish we could do it all again.

“This really is an amazing wedding venue. From our very first meeting with Bre, Graham and Lorna we were made to feel like the most important people in the world.

The location and setting are beautiful: a large country house and grounds in the gorgeous North Wales countryside. You really are getting three venues in one with all the barns, gardens and marquees.

If you book for a weekend wedding as we did, you get the run of the venue from Thursday to decorate the place to your own tastes. No fixed choices for the venue decoration, it really is up to you to make the wedding day your own (with loads of help from Lorna of course!).

The candle lit dinner on the Friday was fantastic and the whole weekend ran without a hitch. No need to check your watch to make sure that you are on time for the wedding breakfast as Lorna will do this for you and move you and your guests on. They really do take the stress out of the day.

So many of our guests have commented on how wonderful the venue is and what a lovely day they had. Thank you Bre, Graham and Lorna for a wonderful time. I just wish we could do it all again!”

I have a lot to say so please bear with me.....
Ever since we stayed at Pentre Mawr, Amy (the Wife) had wanted to get married there, and on the weekend, we had the honour of being Bre & Graham’s first wedding at Pentre Mawr.

Now for the review:

"From the first contact with Bre, nothing was too much trouble, and within two weeks the Wedding was booked for December that year! After numerous phonecalls, emails, and a couple of visits, Bre and Graham made everything so easy and would help in any way possible, from ideas for the ceremony room, to recommending fantastic local wedding suppliers. The help Amy received from Bre was fantastic, as she has many years experience and fantastic insight!

We arrived for the weekend of the Wedding on Friday. We had 30 guests, who all arrived with different and/or difficult needs – everything was catered for, starting with a golf buggy ride on arrival to the house for the old, infirm (or just plain lazy!) All guests were welcomed with tea, coffee, bucks fizz and home-made cake and scones and plenty of friendly banter, which started off the weekend perfectly and made everyone feel at home. Guests were then driven by golf buggy to their room to get ready for dinner – which in itself was a masterclass in organisation and service, everyone raved about this fantastically presented and fabulous tasting meal, and left the table fit to burst. We retired, thoroughly contented, to our rooms to enjoy the luxury facilities on offer, including the hot tubs (in December!). This is where Bride and Groom parted ways, and I enjoyed an impromptu Stag Night (oooops!!)

On the day of the wedding (sorry Brides, this is from the Groom’s perspective, as this is the part where you will do absolutely nothing, and have Bre and the gang spoil you rotten – Breakfast and Fizz in bed with Mum and Bridesmaids)!
After a fantastic breakfast, the guests were left to their own devices to again enjoy the facilities on offer – football with the Dog’s, a stroll to enjoy the local views, a soothing soak in the hot tub, and spending an hour or so with Storm and Frank, who brought along falconer Richard (this experience was booked with Richard in advance, in order to break up the day for our guests, and to keep them out of our hair! Well worth every penny, as it added to the memories for our guests to take away from our Big Day). I had decided to decorate the table’s and marquee myself, and this is where the wonderful Lisa kept me calm for a few hours before the wedding, while she was setting up the tables for the wedding breakfast (thank you Lisa!).

We had the ceremony in the Blue Room in the house which had been beautifully arranged by the Pentre Mawr gang. The Flowers for Bride, bridesmaids and buttonholes were created by Haf, and were stunning

www.hafsfloraldesigns.co.uk). With Bre in charge of the music, the ceremony went smoothly, and we had a glass of fizz waiting for us on our exit. The guests were escorted to the gallery while Steve (our photographer – www.mikeandstevemainstone.com ) did a fantastic job with the minimum of fuss. On our way to the gallery, we were met by a couple of gatecrashers – Storm and Richard – what a wonderful surprise for the new wife, who had missed them earlier in the day.

We then went to the Gallery to be greeted by our guests, enjoying more fizz and delicious canapés served by the lovely Beth and Connor (thank you to the wonderful Beth for letting me and the Best Man hide in the corner un-interrupted to eat most of them)! We then sat down to enjoy more fantastically prepared food, during which we were entertained by the amazing Taylormade www.taylormadeacoustic.com) who played an acoustic set during the meal. They then played two sets of more up-beat music to keep the guests dancing the night away.

The following morning, everyone enjoyed a late breakfast/brunch, served buffet style, whilst re-living some of the wonderful moments from the day before.

All in all, we had the most amazing Wedding Weekend, we could not have hoped for anything better. If you want a fantastic wedding without stress, worry or hassle, to feel as comfortable as being in your own home and to be treated like part of the family, and to have a few days that you and all of your guests will remember forever, Pentre Mawr Country House is the place to choose.
