Horsted Place, a magnificent Victorian listed building set in extensive landscaped gardens, provides the perfect backdrop for wedding or civil partnership celebrations at any time of year.   Impressive but welcoming, grand but friendly, this lovely country house offers flexibility for civil ceremonies or a reception following a church ceremony.

The warm intimate Library is ideal for the smaller ceremony whilst the elegant Terrace Room with its French doors on to the garden can accommodate up to 100.   This room is flooded by afternoon sunlight, but also looks stunning lit by candles for a winter wedding.

For an outdoor ceremony, the Victorian style summerhouse on the sheltered croquet lawn sets the scene for a less formal but nonetheless memorable occasion.

It is possible to take exclusive use of house when Horsted Place, its staff and team of experienced chefs are at the complete disposal of the bridal party and their guests.

There are no standard packages and never more than one wedding booked for the same date.   Our experienced wedding co-ordinator can advise on fine food and wines to compliment the setting, and discuss every couple’s requirements and budget to help tailor a unique and perfect day.

At Horsted Place, we care about the little things, which is why all of our suites and bedrooms are individually decorated for luxury and comfort and all are finished by hand with flowering plants, fluffy white towels, soft cushions and Egyptian Cotton bed sheets. All double rooms and suites have flat screen HD televisions with the full range of Freeview and Sky Sports channels.

Whether facing the gardens, the country estate or the South Downs, each room has great views and all the suites have a separate seating area from which to enjoy them. We offer 24 hour room service should you fancy a cup of tea first thing in the morning, dinner in your private lounge area or a breakfast in bed!

From the studious leather finished “Edinburgh” suite to the relaxing soft tones of the “Nevill”, each room is designed to make you feel like a guest of the house, and not in a hotel at all.

Please note that we cannot accommodate children under the age of seven but children over the age of seven are welcome.

Horsted Place Hotel is located on the A26, 2 miles south of Uckfield.

Suggested Routes

From the North: M25 Junction 6. Follow A22 South.

From the South West: A27 to Lewes. A26 from Lewes to Uckfield.

From the South East: A27 to Polegate. At Polegate take A22 North.

From Heathrow Airport: (one hour drive) M4 west to M25. Then south to M23. Exit M23 at East Grinstead. Then A22 to Uckfield. Horsted Place is one mile south of Uckfield on the A26 to Lewes.

From Gatwick Airport: (30 minute drive) M23 to East Grinstead then A22 south. As above.

From central London: (90 minute drive) A3 from Putney Bridge (Fulham Road) south to M25. Then M23 to East Grinstead. As above.
